The October DANA caused widespread damage in the region, impacting homes, businesses, and infrastructure, leaving many families in critical situations. This collaboration seeks to address the urgent needs of these communities by providing essential resources for their recovery.

During the visit, the educators got a firsthand look at IDALSA’s aluminium recycling and casting process. This highly specialized and sustainability-focused process involves collecting aluminium scrap, melting it at high temperatures, and creating green aluminium ingots. These ingots are then distributed to various industrial sectors for the manufacture of components.

The tour was led by IDALSA staff, who provided the teachers with a detailed overview of the different stages of the production process, from the selection of recycled materials to the quality control of the final product. Additionally, IDALSA representatives highlighted the importance of having skilled technicians for the operation and maintenance of the machinery and furnaces used in the process.

Committed to environmental sustainability and resource optimization, IDALSA serves as an exemplary model for future generations of technicians. Its business model, based on material revalorization, helps reduce environmental impact and promotes the development of a sustainable industry and circular economy—a model that the teachers from Pedrola can pass on to their students in the classroom.
